We stayed in the bell tents which are in the alpaca area for one night en route to somewhere else but I wish we had stayed for longer! The alpacas were very friendly and kept our kids amused for most of the time, although they loved the chickens and sheep too. The place itself is perfectly placed on the river bank with beautiful surroundings. The river was perfect for swimming in and great as there are no showers. The eco toilets didn't both us either, there was no smell, they were clean and you just put sawdust after you've been instead of flushing - easy! The staff in the pub couldn't do enough for you. The menu was well balanced with local produce and the whole place had a lovely, homely vibe. Well recommended.

Rich and Caroline and the rest of their staff went above and beyond to make sure absolutely everything was done to look after their guests. The site is beautiful, the staff are lovely and the river flows right through the middle. The pub has the best lamb burgers and steak pie and the loveliest atmosphere. My partner and I stayed in the Heron's nest caravan as we've never really been into camping, but now we've been converted! Bought a tent on the way home and we'll be back very soon, thank you so much!!!

5 Stars – A Fantastic Family Getaway at The Crown Inn Campsite! We recently stayed at The Crown Inn Campsite for our annual family camping trip, and we honestly couldn’t have been happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel completely welcome. The owners were absolutely lovely – so friendly, attentive, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure everything was just right. It really made a difference knowing they were always nearby and happy to help with anything we needed, no matter how big or small. The campsite itself is peaceful, clean, and very well looked after. It’s clear that the owners take a lot of pride in maintaining the site to a high standard. The pitches are spacious, and there’s a really nice balance between open space and privacy. The facilities – including the toilets, showers, and washing-up area – were spotless and well-stocked, which made the stay even more comfortable. We also appreciated how safe and family-friendly the whole site felt, allowing the kids to enjoy themselves while we could relax knowing they were in a secure environment. The location is fantastic too. It’s in such a beautiful setting, surrounded by nature and with plenty to explore in the local area. Whether you’re looking for walking trails, quaint villages, or just a quiet spot to unwind, this site has you covered. There’s also a lovely pub nearby which added a nice touch to our evenings out. Overall, this is a real hidden gem. We’ve stayed at a number of campsites over the years, but this one truly stood out thanks to the personal touches, the lovely atmosphere, and the genuine care from the owners. It’s rare to find somewhere that ticks all the boxes, but The Crown Inn Campsite definitely did for us. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the area, whether you’re a seasoned camper or just looking for a relaxing break with the family.

We had a brilliant few days camping here. We loved the Location, Animals and playing in the stream. A beautiful place that I'm sure if you like the countryside and nature you will have a great time. The pub does some tasty meals and the owners are very friendly and welcoming. We would happily return again in the future.

We've visited a few times and tbh it gets better every time! The first couple of times we actually left, BUT the last two occasions were so much better. The food is good pub food, there's plenty of choice at the bar, and the vibe is generally welcoming and friendly... we're glad we returned.

Stayed here for one night with my 6 year old son, great camping spot. Feels like you’re on your own island when you cross the river. Rich and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. Food was good, my son really enjoyed himself. Quiet respectful campsite. Will be returning, highly recommend to for solo campers, couples and ideal for families of all ages.
